When LaLiga president Javier Tebas compared Real Madrid's club television channel's communication methods to Goebbels's propaganda machine, I was sitting at a tea stall in Chattogram thinking: there is no goal in this argument, no 67th minute, yet Spain's football public has been pulled into the same breath. Spain's Higher Sports Council (CSD) publicly demanded that Tebas apologise to Real Madrid. Tebas did not apologise. He mocked the demand as 'extraordinary telepathy' and tied it to the name of José Mourinho. In that single sentence, three pillars of Spanish football governance shook at once: the state, the league, and the club. Football culture is a museum where the exhibits still sweat and sing — and today, in that museum's corridor, two guards are shouting at each other while the visitors cannot get inside.
